Job purpose:

• Design solutions to meet short-term business and development needs and requirements as well as strategic architecture direction and roadmaps
• Ensure that the infrastructure architecture is continuously updated to match published architecture best practices
• Support architecture governance to ensure realization of strategic direction and stable and highly available operations
• Maintain a high level of knowledge and expertise across multiple technologies, towers and disciplines
• Facilitate adoption and utilization of industry best practices
• Ensure that infrastructures are sufficiently documented to facilitate evolution and migration  

Responsibilities:

• Ensure stable and secure platform on which applications can be integrated and managed
• Conceptualize infrastructure solutions and alternatives including cost estimates
• Act as architecture lead in infrastructure initiatives taking a DevOps perspective to integrate all stakeholder views
• Ensure that capacity, performance and scalability needs are sufficiently covered
• Maintain vendor relationships and ensure appropriate engineering lifecycles, including new platforms, releases, and patches
• Research, evaluate and select technologies and products, and provide and promote standard configurations to serve the needs of technology users and development projects
• Perform architecture reviews and design inspections
• Document design rationale and ensure that deviations from standards and strategic direction are identified and communicated
• Provide recognized subject matter expertise and strategic thinking in assigned architecture areas
• Exercise architecture decision authority in alignment with strategic direction
