Would you like to apply your technical aspirations in a Data Center environment?

We are looking for technically minded candidates who are willing to learn about the Data Centers and grow as professionals in this area. You do not need to be a Data Center guru at first, but you should be really eager to become one of them. The role is more about coordinating and maintaining Data Centers’ activities as opposed to hands on a technical work on Data Centers. 

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the daily activities and priorities for the Data Center (scaling out, monitoring, retirement of legacy systems).
• Work effectively with infrastructure teams and manage vendor relationships as required.
• Recognize and identify potential areas where existing policies and procedures require change, or where new ones need to be developed as they relate to Data Centers.
• Insure quality and repeatable process through optimization, quality assurance, reporting, measuring and monitoring.
• Coordinate of on-site support, maintain access control logs (you will not be physically present on the DC but will coordinate remotely).
• Server and Network device install, move, add, change (IMAC) support (this role is about coordinating these activities, not executing).
• Coordinate the IT cabling design, implementation, patching and patch management, Cabling Inventory and Management.
• Organize and host the conference calls with 3rd parties, technical teams, etc.
• Estimate and plan activities within the domain for individual tasks to provide the necessary input into the project managers for developing an end to end plan.
• Maintain disaster recovery plans associated with data centres. 

Requirements

• University or College technical education degree (Computer Science; Electronics; Engineering or similar).
• Working experience in IT infrastructure environment would be considered as an advantage.
• Basic understanding of (or willingness to learn) the physical requirements (power, cooling, capacity metrics, cabling, hardware) and day-to-day operations procedures for management of an enterprise data center;
• Willingness to learn about the Data Center infrastructure and its resiliency design (UPS, Generator, CRAC, cabling, containment routes, etc.)
• Basic understanding in these areas: storage (SAN, NAS, LVM, RAID); incident, problem and change management (ITIL); basic network principles; server installation procedures.
• Good English skills (written and spoken).
• Good analytical skills and accuracy, problem solving skills.
• Working in a fast paced, dynamic environment and have an ability to multitask and prioritise workload appropriately.
